Some have asked about the toast I offered to Amy and James at their going away bash on Saturday, September 19, prior to their leaving for Thailand. It was a restatement of the old Gaelic Blessing:
"Amy and James --
The wine of today may dry
and the flowers of today may die,
but friends never say goodbye,
only 'Farewell.'
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
The rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again,
And until we meet again,
Take a part of us with you on your journey,
And we will hold you in our hearts,
Until we can hold you in our arms,
Again.
Farewell...
Bon Voyage...
Cheers !
Cheers !!
CHEERS !!!"
